Holst Centre Receives State Visit by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and Slovakian President Ivan Gasparovic

Showcased latest progress in research towards low-cost large-scale production of flexible OLED lighting

On Nov. 22, 2012, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and Slovakian President Ivan Gašparovic – accompanied by a delegation of nearly 50 representatives from government and industry – visited Holst Centre. The visit was part of an official three-day State visit of the Slovakian delegation to The Netherlands.

With “innovations in lighting” as a central theme, several organizations from the Brainport region presented themselves at various stations in our building on High Tech Campus Eindhoven. For Holst Centre, managing director Jaap Lombaers and program manager Joanne Wilson presented its unique business model and shared research eco-system based on the latest progress in research towards low-cost large-scale production of flexible OLED lighting.

At the end of the visit, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and the Slovakian First Lady Silvia Gašparovičová received a flexible OLED that was specially made for the occasion, as well as the 3D-printed frame holding the OLED, which was custom made by TNO.
